2008: Shafer’s Best Relentless Yet

Doug Shafer and Elias Fernandez have crafted what wine critic James Laube from Wine Spectator has termed “the best Relentless yet.”

A blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Petite Syrah, Relentless is a concentrated, rich, and bold expression of Syrah sourced from select parcels located just south of the famed Stag’s Leap District in Napa Valley.  Fernandez—Shafer’s winemaker–describes this powerful Syrah as “midnight in a glass,” paced with “abundant aromas and flavors of juicy purple fruit, smoked meat, spice, smoke, black plums and berry.” While the name Relentless may be taken as an indication of the wine’s powerful, concentrated flavours, in fact, Doug and John Shafer named it in honor of winemaker Elias Fernandez’s determined pursuit to craft the very best possible wine.

There’s a buzz brewing about this wine. Wine Spectator scored the 2008 96 pts, while Robert Parker gave it 95 pts. This is definitely the vintage to own.

RED Spirits and Wine is pleased to offer this iconic Syrah for the very special price of $59.99. Quantities are very limited and pre-orders are already being placed.  Please be sure to call the store (615-646-1400), and reserve yours today!
